About Us

Our Story

The Friends Career Center, founded on Quaker values of equality, simplicity, and fellowship, emerged from a desire to harmonize career pursuits with personal values and contribute to peaceful community building. In response to the educational setbacks caused by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, particularly in Rwanda where rural areas faced significant technological barriers leading to youth dropping out of school, the center aims to empower low-income, rural youth and those living with HIV. Through engaging with various communities and recognizing the urgent need for educational and vocational support, the Friends Career Center seeks to offer transformative social impact in Rwanda, empowering young people for meaningful careers and personal growth.
