Ubugeni Bwomora ~ Art that Heals

​Ubugeni Bwomora (Kinyarwanda for Art That Heals) is an innovative mentorship and art-based therapy program designed to empower youth living with HIV in Karongi District, Rwanda. This initiative fosters self-acceptance, mental well-being, and resilience through the transformative power of storytelling and creative expression

Our Approach

Phase 1: Building Trust

  • Creating a safe and inclusive space through team-building activities.

  • Engaging participants in outdoor adventures, sports, and shared meals to foster community.

 

Phase 2: Storytelling & Self-Acceptance

  • Hosting workshops on self-expression and resilience, led by experienced counselors.

  • Providing individual counseling sessions to help participants process emotions.

 

Phase 3: Art as a Medium for Healing

  • Guiding youth in creating art that tells their personal stories.

  • Showcasing artwork through exhibitions and discussions to promote awareness and advocacy.
