FCC Launches the SheCreates Fellowship: Empowering Rwanda’s Next Generation of Women Entrepreneurs

ree

We are excited to celebrate the successful launch of the SheCreates Fellowship, held on November 23rd, 2025, in Kigali, a day filled with energy, purpose, and the promise of a transformative year ahead. Rooted in our vision of cultivating confident, creative, and economically empowered future leaders, the SheCreates Fellowship aims to equip young women with the entrepreneurship skills, seed funding, mentors, and resources needed to build sustainable businesses and lead change in their communities.

This groundbreaking program brings together 20 exceptional young women entrepreneurs from Kigali and surrounding districts, each selected through a highly competitive process. From the moment they walked in, their passion, readiness, and commitment to making a meaningful impact were undeniable.

Implemented in collaboration with the Transformational Leadership Center (TLC) and Forward Africa Education Trust (FAET), who delivered inspiring opening remarks, the launch highlighted our shared commitment to advancing economic development for young women in Rwanda. The day began with lively icebreakers, which brought laughter, boosted energy, and helped the fellows connect right away.

A Message of Inspiration From Our Founders

During the launch, our Founders Joyeuse Senga and Sandrine Ishimwe shared FCC’s journey of growth and their experiences as women innovators leading change in their communities. They encouraged the fellows to embrace curiosity, stay open to learning, and take full advantage of the opportunities ahead, especially the chance to connect with mentors and build meaningful relationships with one another. They reminded the cohort that true growth emerges through community and collaboration.

A Year of Transformation, Innovation, and Growth

Over the next 12 months, the fellows will develop their ideas and scale their businesses into strong, sustainable businesses that contribute to Rwanda’s creativity, innovation, and economic progress. The fellowship includes entrepreneurship and leadership training, mentorship, networking opportunities, and access to seed funding. Through monthly workshops, practical assignments, and guidance from experienced entrepreneurs and young professionals, fellows will strengthen their confidence, sharpen their management skills, and grow their ventures.

Investing in SheCreates Is Investing in Rwanda’s Future

As we celebrate this milestone, we honour the creativity, courage, and leadership of these young women, each one a catalyst for innovation, economic resilience, and community transformation. SheCreates represents a high-impact, scalable model that opens doors for young women who are ready to lead, create, and build.
